I see him in my minds eye as he was when he left us. Never aging, forever 27. The weekend following his death he was supposed to have made his way to Great Falls to drive back to Missoula with me because he didn't want me to drive over the pass in a VW bug with a newborn, a 6 year old & a dog- by myself. I miss him every day.

Becky, thank you for bringing him back on this Christmas eve. Anyone who really knew Jerry loved him, and you never forget someone like that. He was such of a solid, a perfect melding of softness and substance. He was what you wished all humans should be: kind, generous, honest, empathetic, funny, and loyal. And I was just a friend. I wasn't his family. I can only imagine the loss felt by all of you. He reminded me so much of your mom. Thanks for this Christmas cry. It is what is so sweet about still being here, remembering all the lovers I've known. My life has been enriched by so many sweet souls. Take care.

I was thinking of him last night during the Steelers-Raiders game since the Steelers were his favorite team. The 50 year anniversary of Franco Harris's Immaculate Reception was Friday & I remember Jerry & everyone else going nuts over it. Hard to believe it's been 50 years! Even harder to know it's been 42 years that he's been gone. Merry Christmas to you & Pam.
